TR26 The Saltings Lelant CornwallThe brief was to create a feature staircase, closing off a previous entrance to make full use of the space. The client wanted to widen the area so the stairs would be more inviting wrapping 180 degrees up to the loft conversation. This meant removing a side wall of a bathroom and replacing right up through the house. In addition lifting a section of the roof to create a dormer with lots of glazing for increased head height. Due to the fact there had been a loft conversion previously where a number of steels had be added to create accommodation there was a lot of structural work and propping required to complete the project to the architects specification. In addition they felt the house had to many small unusable rooms, so we removed a wall between a corridor and day room opening the space up and flooding with light. |
